Slumdog Millionaire prints in demand, but pirates…

The success of Slumdog Millionaire at the Golden Globes has led to an increase in the demand for the prints for the film in India reports Business Standard. The film is being released by Fox Star Studios in India. Read here

Hindustan Times, on the other hand, reports that:

pirated DVDs of the film are selling like hot cakes. A steady stream of cine-buffs has been visiting Ravi Kumar’s  small DVD shop in Palika Bazar the past couple of days, almost all asking for Slumdog.

“I have already sold about 250 copies; rarely have I seen such a huge demand for any film,” says Kumar.  No wonder then Kumar, who ran out of stock twice the last three days, has already placed an order for 500 more DVDs.
